I woke up yesterday with an aching sensation in my left elbow joint on the inside part of my arm. I tried to ignore it but this morning it appears to have gotten worse. Especially when I bend my arm so my hand is near my face, etc.
The weired thing is that now my right arm is starting to ache slightly.
Has anyone experienced something like this before, I do not have time at the moment to go to my doctor.Sensible answers only please. No time wasters.
Answer:
do you suffer with pins and needles in the morning after waking up and it goes away during the day,to confirm diagnosis you need to have a special test done where small amount of current is passed through the fingers and if confirmed it sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome, this is where the nerve in the wrist has become trapped and needing minor surgical procedure (day case)under local anaesthetic and takes 6 weeks to heel.thee other symtom could painfull all the time and this could be called tennis elbow(no you dont have to play tennis)to is can cured by injections normally two at about 6 weeks apart this is a cortizone injection.if the pain is over the elbow then this called golfers elbow.
CHECK WITH YOUR GP AS I AM NOT PISS TAKING.
most likely you were doing something the day before that triggered it...another thing could be the change in weather..
It could be Arthritis.
If you have a baby or in school and loaded down with homework, it could be you are carrying a car seat or bag on the inside of your elbow and it's just too much. And the right one hurting, you could just be relying too much on it from the pain in your left, causing problems. If it's a burning, definatley go to the doctor asap, could be carpal tunnel...Either way, it's not going to get better on it's own. Start taking some otc anti-inflammatories like advil/ibuprofen. Anyways, good luck and I hope somehow you get an answer.
it could be caused by any repetative movement e.g. lifting heavy objects building up pressure on the inside of the elbow. people get confused between lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and medial epicondylitis (golfers elbow). on the inside of the arm tends to be golfers elbow. i have had it in both elbows for 18 months now and have had regular visits to GP's, physio, X-rays etc. (they just wont give me steroid injections) and i still have it. all i recommend is that you rest it now because if you rest it later it could be too late because 4 months ago i took time out of what i do and rested it and it got worse but it improved by me slowly building movement back up in it. never rest it completely because it will stiffen and restrict movement in the tendon making it sore and swollen. try anti inflammatories, heat and cold applications (icepacks and heat pads) and some small stretches dont force it. i am still doing the stuff i did before and the problem is slowly going away because i did some light muscle building to build the muscle around the joint because this also helps the joint because there is something else there to endure some of the pressure but just try resting it as much as possible even though time is an issue just try to make time because you dont want these problems to continue. if pain persists try and get down a GP it may be arthritis or it may just be golfers elbow or something else. hope this is helpful
