After a CABGx2, even chocolate cake was salty tasting. What causes this after the procedure?

My sister tasted the cake and said it was fine. I couldn't eat it, opting for the extremely bland cardiac diet. yuk! There's nothing better than having ground up paper for a meal. Heart surgery is a miracle. If the nutritionists could come up with something that "tasted" good, that would also be a miracle.
Answer:
You body does not know the difference in a CABG and being run over by a train, so some things are bound to be out of kilter. Your mouth/throat/tongue puts up with a lot of crap for that procedure, then they have given you drugs that mess with the brain (that's how they work) and it can affect how you process senses. Give it some time till all the stuff is excreted.
